Yes. And I agree completely with Woods' assessment.

Every Catholic should vote for Randall Terry.

This guys video is outdated, but I agree with his final conclusion on Ron Paul. It's sad, but true.

What Tom Woods says in the video is all well and good. Ron Paul probably is the best candidate. However, Wood's and Paul's economic policy is inconsistent with Catholic social teaching, especially that of Leo XIII, and Pius XI. Too bad there isn't Distributist Party or candidate.

If you are referring to Ron Paul's overall support of Austrian economics, I would tend to agree. But, in specifics, I think Ron Paul's proposals to audit, reign in and ultimately diminish or abolish the Fed and get us on a sound money policy would do more to promote small ownership and subsidiarity than anything any of the other candidates are talking about.

To support someone like Ron Paul, one must trust God for our daily bread. Too many of us trust the strong arm of government instead.

Boniface,

Thanks for being one of the few Catholic Blogs to really get it. So far, that makes you, Mark Shea and Tom Woods. I am glad for the video. I believe

Dr. Ron Paul really gets the loopholes in our system that cause so many misfortunes. He wants to end them, not pay lip service.

The other candidates just gloss over serious issues and think we the citizens--their electors--do not know the real issues.

The fact that Governor Romney and President Obama have the same campaign donors (Goldman Sachs and other crony banks) should be a SIGN!! No different politics, just mere appearances.

Also Speaker Gingrich's top donors are from alternative and renewable energy companies carbon tax that will be pushing their agenda through him. Sitting on a couch with Nancy Pelosi was a favor he did for money to push global warming on us and to use that to bring in carbon taxes.

Do the American people really want a government pushing agendas of anybody except the American people as a whole? It's time to end this folks. Let's walk down the narrow path.

By the way, nitpicking at Austrian Economics is OK, but realize what you'll be getting with the other candidates. THE SAME THING. Corporate Interests over the people. Lobbyists and Bankers writing bills and pretend congressman acting as though they are freethinkers. The system is broken. A first step would be to remove the cancer in the form of corporate interests and reign in burdensome tax!

In this movie, Woods was 100% correct - the sad thing is that he's a hypocrite and doesn't follow his own advice: Catholic first!

The problem is, Wood's dumps on the Popes of the last 150 years as soon as they say something (usually economic) against what the Secular Scriptures teach.

Woods knows better, and thus was lying through his teeth when trying to play the Catholic card.

The true "Catholic first" folks are those who say that Ron Paul best aligns with Catholic Social Teaching - ironically more than the Catholic candidates - and thus Paul is the only real option. Woods wants Ron Paul for reasons that make Catholicism a secondary concern.
