"

Sorry to say this, but the mistake was yours. If you had provided them with the story, including pictures, plus three different 'morals' or 'conclusions' to be drawn from the story, then the editors would have eaten it up. They are always interested in filling the pages without doing too much work. The three moral or conclusion options let them pick an appropriate ending for their editorial taste, without letting them go too far off the rails.

Try that, and see how quick you get into the papers.!

PaulAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086833995941525990.post-36359275162902116902010-09-06T11:07:58.792-04:002010-09-06T11:07:58.792-04:00Jeanne-

Unfortunately, FAITH did not wonder why the tiny parish had so many kids involved so missed the opportunity to talk to you about how you inspire the kids spiritually.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17123213011002107442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086833995941525990.post-48616800250324402402010-09-06T08:17:03.699-04:002010-09-06T08:17:03.699-04:00I just watched a funny video over at http://www.or...I just watched a funny video over at http://www.orbiscatholicus.org/
on Catholic education of our youth.
Religion in the Modern World.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086833995941525990.post-50867167605745321242010-09-02T21:44:55.869-04:002010-09-02T21:44:55.869-04:00Jeanne-

I'd like to know where and when, since this is the first I've heard of it.

You are right about the size, though...our parish has only 400 active families and we have about 63 kids...I know another parish down the road that has about 1000 families and a youth group of only 25.Bonifacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10672810254075072214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086833995941525990.post-6475672439941721012010-09-01T19:49:46.365-04:002010-09-01T19:49:46.365-04:00And, Boniface, you are too humble to point out tha...And, Boniface, you are too humble to point out that your youth group and I do mean YOUR group has 63 members (per Faith magazine) far in excess of many much, much larger parishes. What you are saying is true. I pray that the group will continue to grow in numbers and in faith under the leadership of the new DRE.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17123213011002107442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086833995941525990.post-49972569169474947652010-09-01T10:03:16.530-04:002010-09-01T10:03:16.530-04:00We now exclusively attend the TLM where there is n...We now exclusively attend the TLM where there is no such thing as a 'youth group', but in our former parish there was a typical one. I always found it amazing how the kids were baited with pizza or donuts or some other junk food for every 'service project'. Another strange phenomenon is the 'service hour' requirement for Confirmation. For every opportunity for service the kids were reminded it would 'count' for their needed hours - the church is now actually using coupon booklets to track the kids service hours. Kind of dulls the meaning of true 'service' IMO.Kimberleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14980588863109281657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6086833995941525990.post-47925425416039393672010-08-30T20:13:34.128-04:002010-08-30T20:13:34.128-04:00Spot on Boniface; works of mercy be they spiritual...Spot on Boniface; works of mercy be they spiritual or temporal will necessarly from a strong faith.Just another mad Catholichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10503510474554718305noreply@blogger.com
